Six-cylinder Enduro Racers have another place to race — and there’s real money on the line!

SMP Enduro Racing is adding a separately scored 6R division for our September 5 Enduro at Chateau Speedway in Lansing, Minnesota, giving six-cylinder racers the opportunity to compete for their own $500 GUARANTEED TO WIN purse while racing alongside the SMP Compact Class.
This is a one-race trial, and if the racers support it, it could lead to more opportunities for 6R Cars at future SMP Enduro events.
$500 Guaranteed to Win the 6R Division
The 6R winner will take home a Guaranteed $500, regardless of the number of 6R cars entered.
Second- and third-place payouts will also be available and will be determined by the number of cars participating.
Entry is just $100, the same as a regular SMP Enduro entry.
Register before the draw deadline and your $30 pit pass is FREE, plus you’ll be entered into the starting-position draw.
That means you can put your six-cylinder Enduro car on the track for up to 200 laps, race for a guaranteed $500-to-win purse, and be part of one of the longest forms of grassroots racing around.
One Race — Two Separate Competitions
Here’s what makes this different.
The SMP Compact cars and participating 6R cars will all compete together on the track in the same race.
However, racers choosing the 6R division will be scored separately against the other 6R competitors.
That means the 6R racers have their own competition, their own scoring, their own finishing order and their own $500 guaranteed-to-win payout — all while battling on the track alongside the regular SMP Compact field.
The combined Compact and 6R race will run 200 laps or 1.5 hours, whichever comes first.
Which Six-Cylinder Cars Are Eligible?
Six-cylinder cars will compete under the SMP Enduro Compact rules for this event.
Eligible six-cylinder racers will have the choice of competing as part of the regular SMP Compact scoring or electing to compete in the separately scored 6R division.
If you’ve already built a six-cylinder Enduro car, here’s another opportunity to get that car out of the shop, onto the dirt and racing for money.
Racers interested in the existing regional 6R racing community can also connect with the Midwest 6R Series Facebook Group.

Regular SMP Compact Racing Is Still $5,000 to Win at 100 Entries
Nothing changes for the regular SMP Compact Class.
The SMP Compact purse continues under our normal payout structure, with $5,000 to win at 100 entries.
The winner receives 50% of the available purse, second place receives 25%, and the remaining 25% is distributed through the remaining paying positions.
As always with SMP Enduro Racing, 100% of the race entry fees are paid back to the drivers.
And Then We Turn the Full-Size Cars Loose
When the Compact/6R race is finished, we’re not done.
The SMP Full-Size Class takes over Chateau Speedway for its own 200-lap or 1.5-hour Enduro.
And here’s another opportunity for the Compact and 6R racers:
If your four-cylinder or six-cylinder car survives the first race and you want even more track time, you are eligible to enter the Full-Size race afterward.
Run the Compact/6R Enduro, keep the car alive, and you can come back out and battle the Full-Size field.

6R Racers — If You Want More Races, Show Us There’s Demand
This September 5 race is a trial.
SMP is opening the door and giving six-cylinder racers another opportunity to compete with their own scoring and their own payout. What happens after that will depend heavily on racer support.
If the cars show up, there’s an opportunity to do this again.
So if you own an eligible six-cylinder Enduro car, don’t leave it sitting in the shop.
Bring it to Chateau Speedway.
Race it.
Support it.
And help show that there’s demand for more 6R racing opportunities in Southern Minnesota.
Follow the SMP Enduro Racing Facebook page for registration information, race updates, payouts and additional announcements leading up to September 5.
We’ll see you at Chateau Speedway.
