ONE DRIVER. TWO DIVISIONS. TWO CHAMPIONSHIPS. ONE CROWN.
New starting in the 2027 racing season, SMP Enduro Racing is introducing a new annual challenge designed to test the dedication, endurance, consistency, and determination of the most accomplished Enduro Racers in the Upper Midwest.

Introducing the Ultimate Iron Man Challenge — KING OF THE ENDUROS!
This isn’t just another championship. It’s an opportunity for experienced drivers who have already collected victories, trophies, and championship titles to chase something entirely new.
A challenge that demands more than being the fastest driver on any given night.
A challenge that requires an entire season of commitment.
A challenge that only one truly exceptional racer may conquer.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO WEAR THE CROWN?
What Is the Ultimate Iron Man Challenge?
The Ultimate Iron Man Challenge combines SMP Enduro Racing’s existing Compact and Full-Size Iron Man Championships into one prestigious overall achievement.
To become the King of the Enduros, a driver must accomplish something extraordinary:
Win BOTH the Compact Iron Man Championship AND the Full-Size Iron Man Championship in the same racing season.
Not one or the other. Both.
That means competing in two completely different divisions, mastering two different race cars, and maintaining championship-level performance throughout the entire season.
One driver. Two divisions. Two championships.
And if one driver can conquer them both, that driver earns the ultimate title: KING OF THE ENDUROS!
Three Championships — One Ultimate Achievement
There are two separate divisional championships, with an additional overall title available if the same driver wins both.
Compact Iron Man Champion — $250
The driver who wins the season-long Compact Iron Man Championship earns $250 and the distinction of being the Compact Iron Man Champion.
Full-Size Iron Man Champion — $250
The driver who wins the season-long Full-Size Iron Man Championship earns $250 and the distinction of being the Full-Size Iron Man Champion.
King of the Enduros — Additional $500 Bonus
If the same driver wins BOTH championships, that driver earns an additional $500 bonus and is crowned the 2027 Ultimate Iron Man Challenge King of the Enduros.
That means one driver could collect:
- Compact Iron Man Championship: $250
- Full-Size Iron Man Championship: $250
- King of the Enduros Bonus: $500
TOTAL POSSIBLE PAYOUT: $1,000!
If different drivers win the Compact and Full-Size championships, both divisional champions still receive their $250 awards. However, the King of the Enduros title and $500 bonus will remain unclaimed.
The crown must be earned by winning BOTH championships.

The Ultimate Test: Race Both Divisions at Every Event
What separates the King of the Enduros from an ordinary championship?
Commitment.
Under SMP Enduro Racing’s existing Iron Man Championship eligibility requirements, drivers must take the green flag in every scheduled race in their respective division to remain eligible for that division’s Iron Man Championship.
For the Ultimate Iron Man Challenge, that means competing in both the Compact and Full-Size divisions at every scheduled SMP Enduro Racing event.
Imagine the challenge.
You strap into your Compact race car and battle through a grueling Enduro event. You’re fighting traffic, managing your equipment, and trying to earn every championship point possible.
When the Compact race is over, your night isn’t finished.
You climb out of one race car, prepare for the next event, and strap yourself into a Full-Size machine.
Then you do it all over again.
And you must keep doing it throughout the entire racing season.
There are no shortcuts to becoming the King of the Enduros.
You have to show up. You have to compete. And you have to win BOTH championships.
This Championship Is Built for the Veterans
Every Enduro racing community has those drivers.
The ones who have been racing for years.
The drivers who have won feature races, collected trophies, survived mechanical failures, and battled through countless laps on dirt tracks across the Midwest.
Some have already won championships.
Some have accomplished nearly everything they originally set out to achieve in Enduro racing.
But what comes next?
The Ultimate Iron Man Challenge gives those drivers a new mountain to climb.
Winning a single championship is difficult enough.
Winning two different championships in the same season, while competing in both divisions at every event, requires an entirely different level of dedication.
This is a challenge worthy of the most experienced, determined, and competitive drivers in grassroots Enduro racing.
Rookies are welcome to chase the crown, too. But the challenge is designed to give seasoned competitors a new level of achievement to pursue.
This is about more than prize money. It’s about earning a title that means something.
How Will the Championship Be Decided?
The Compact and Full-Size Iron Man Championships will maintain their respective championship standings and points systems.
Drivers pursuing the King of the Enduros must win both divisional championships.
The championship eligibility requirements include:
- Compete in every scheduled SMP Enduro Racing event in both divisions.
- Take the green flag in each scheduled Compact and Full-Size race.
- Earn championship points under each division’s applicable points system.
- Finish the season as the Compact Iron Man Champion and the Full-Size Iron Man Champion to claim the overall crown.
Championship Tiebreaker
If two or more drivers finish tied in championship points, the driver with the most race wins will win the championship.
Additional tiebreaker procedures, if needed, will be determined under the applicable championship rules.
Two Race Cars. One Driver. An Entire Season of Preparation.
Attempting to compete in both divisions means preparing and maintaining two race cars, staying organized, and making sure your racing equipment is ready for every event.
It’s not simply about driving ability. Reliability, preparation, and safety can make the difference between remaining in championship contention and watching the opportunity slip away.
Drivers preparing for the season should review our Enduro Race Car Safety Equipment Checklist before heading to the track.
Safety equipment is especially important when you’re planning to spend so much time behind the wheel.
Here are a few racing essentials worth reviewing:
- Racing Fire Suit — Fire-resistant protection for drivers competing in grassroots motorsports.
- 5-Point Racing Harness — Proper driver restraint equipment is an essential part of race car safety.
- Race Receiver — Driver communication equipment for receiving race-control instructions where required or permitted.
- Full-Face Racing Helmet — Head protection for competitive motorsports.
Always verify that equipment meets the current SMP Enduro Racing rules and applicable safety requirements before purchasing.
For more information, read our Racing Fire Suit Safety Guide and 5-Point Racing Harness Safety Guide.
Who Will Wear the Crown?
Somewhere in the Upper Midwest, there may be a driver who has what it takes.
Someone with the experience to win in both divisions.
Someone with the equipment, determination, and commitment to compete at every scheduled event.
Someone willing to push beyond the accomplishments they’ve already achieved.
But right now, nobody knows who that driver will be.
That’s what makes the Ultimate Iron Man Challenge so exciting.
Every race will matter.
Every championship point will matter.
Every green flag will matter.
And as the season progresses, we’ll find out which drivers have the consistency and determination to stay in contention for the ultimate prize.
The King of the Enduros won’t be chosen by popularity, reputation, or past accomplishments.
The King of the Enduros will earn the crown on the racetrack.
The Challenge Has Been Issued
The season is shaping up to offer something special for the Enduro racing community.
Two Iron Man Championships.
A possible $1,000 combined payout.
And one prestigious title that can only be earned by conquering both divisions in the same season.
Will an established champion rise to the occasion?
Will a veteran racer add the ultimate achievement to an already impressive career?
Or will someone nobody expected emerge from the field and make Enduro racing history?
There’s only one way to find out.
